April started with a bang for Jude who got to experience his first taste of soccer. He's been wanting to play since he saw his cousin Mason play a game (and get a medal!) during the fall, so George and I signed him up for a cute program called Hot Shots. It's only about 8 weeks long, meets for an hour on Saturdays, and gives kids an idea of what soccer is all about.

It was cold and wet, but these two were good sports about it, thanks to the extra blankets and a snack or two.
His team is the Orange Eagles.
After about 30 minutes of drills and fun, the kids scrimmage a neighboring team. No one keeps score (at least not the adults), it's just for fun.
Jude took the game very seriously.
Jude informed us afterwards that even though the Red Eagles were a tough team to play, his team, the Orange Eagles, beat them. Way to go, Jude!
