Friday was ushered in by what appeared to us landlubber Virginians as hurricane weather. The wind was so strong it was blowing the chairs on the balcony around and whipping the ocean into a frothy mess. Not really the kind of weather we're used to.
Today was Amy's 28th Birthday so that morning my mom went out and got some balloons and flowers.

My poor boys were going crazy staying inside staring at the beach, but being with Uncle and Aunts helped to pass the time.

Usually there is about 100 yards of beach before the water starts, but during the storm the waves came all the way up to the dunes. Crazy!

That afternoon we decided to go to the pool again, even if it was raining with 50 mile per hour winds.
Jude decided he needed sunscreen and started the process all by himself.
Cole was sleeping, so Jude and Lance came with me and the rest of the "big kids" to play.

Later that evening we attempted to play at the beach, even though it looked like this:
I just couldn't keep the boys inside any longer, so Amy braved the elements with me and we spent about an hour on the beach.

The boys didn't seem to mind the wind and rain and thought it was so much better than being inside.

The wind had whipped the surface the water into foam that kept flying around. It looked like it was snowing.

This made me so nervous. There was a strong undertow, so he wasn't allowed to go out past his knees. That didn't stop him from diving into the waves that came one on top of each other. Look at that crazy surf!
