Our second day in the sunny state of Florida was anything but sunny. A storm was rolling in and this day we traded sun burns and heat for cold rain and wind.
The boys insisted we go to the beach anyway, so we put on our suits and set out.
The boys didn't seem to feel the cold, although I stayed wrapped up in a towel almost the whole time.
But even the boys' enthusiasm for sand and water waned and after 30 minutes we went back inside for a warm soak in the tub.
This is how we spent most of our day:
Movies, food, and resting.

We even had these two cute little visitors come for the afternoon! Weston and Wyatt, Josh's twin boys. They are such sweet babies.
That afternoon we tried to enjoy some Florida activities again by spending some time in the pool. It was still raining and cold, but we managed to have a good time.

Jude has taken a couple swimming classes recently and was excited to show off his new skills.
He is quite fearless and is convinced he is a great swimmer "like Lancie". I had to keep a VERY close eye on him because he was liable to jump into the water without warning and try to swim to whoever he thought was closest. The key word here is "try".
Cole thought the pool was the greatest thing ever and didn't stop smiling the whole time we were there.

I wish you could see his face better. He was laughing like crazy when Uncle Jason threw him in the air.

After the pool and another bath to warm up, it was family time.

Late that night we had a surprise visitor!
Chad drove up from Miami (4 hours!) to spend about the night with us before he had to drive back down the next day so he could attend a conference for his orthodontic program. We were so excited to see him!
My boys think Uncle Chad is the best and didn't waste any time showing him all the things they thought were cool. Chad was such a good sport.
We ended the night by playing a game of Carcassonne with Lance (his request).
Even though the sun didn't peek out once, it was still a great day full of family and fun.
