Visiting Grandma

My Grandma Brewer was in town visiting my mom and aunt this past month for a couple weeks. We were fortunate enough to be able to spend a few days with her while she was there.

We drove up for the weekend March 23rd and spent the night at Aunt Linda's house where Grandma was staying.

We love going over to Aunt Linda's house! Jason was there, too, so it was a party!

Jude saw a ladybug and was scared to touch it, so my aunt got out all her bug puppets and stuffed animals and talked with Jude about how neat bugs are.

Still not sure he wanted to touch it.

He finally got the courage to hold it after about 20 minutes of talking it up.

See, Aunt Linda?

Triumphant!

We spent most of our time at Aunt Linda's house helping her and Grandma set up the basement for visitors and homecoming children. It was relaxing to talk and snack and just be together.
Grandma with Jude and Cole. Lance missed out because he was at his dad's house for the weekend. :(

"That's some good sugar right there!" Growing up, Grandma would always say, "where's my sugar?" and then give us a big kiss. I love it!

I'm so glad we got to see Grandma before she went back down to Florida. I miss her so much, and Grandpa who passed away last November. I hope we get to see Grandma again, soon.

Saturday we went back to George's parent's house.
Jude loves trying to see Uncle Nate's hamster who is usually nocturnal. Saturday he was awake, so George let Jude see him up close. He thought it was fantastic!

Our kids are in heaven at Grandmom and Pop Pop's house. I mean, snacks they get to eat on the couch while getting a story from Pop Pop? It's no wonder the love coming here!

George started feeling awful Saturday and by late Saturday evening, we were in the Emergency Room. George had a fever of 104, killer pain in his joints, was super dehydrated from everything rushing right out of him and was a little lightheaded. Thankfully he was okay and after doing a CT scan of his abdomen to make sure it wasn't appendicitis, we figured it was food poisoning. He got almost three liters of fluid in him and some pain medicine and by 3 a.m. we were out of there.

We hung around on Sunday so George could sleep and the drove back to Charlottesville Sunday evening, picking up Lance from his dad's house on our way out of town.

I wanted to curl up with them back there. We were all exhausted! We finally made it home, just in time to hop in bed for a good night's sleep before Monday started all too soon.
