Our last day in New Smyrna Beach was packed like every other day. We of course had to get our beach fix, so those of us that were left (many of the family had slowly been trickling home) headed out to enjoy the waves one last time.
I think Jude finally started liking the beach, as long as the water didn't get in his eyes, or the sun screen.
Hooray for baby pools!
The rest of the family went out to enjoy the waves. You can't really tell, but the waves were fairly good sized... between three and four feet at times. Lance was adopted by an older cousin and had a great time jumping the waves. He's pretty fearless in the water and would venture out chin-deep to jump waves. He didn't even want you to hold his hand while he did it. He even tried body surfing and diving through the waves!
Mom and Laurie catching up.
Bethany watching Jude on the beach while I took pictures out in the water.
I think he got water in his eyes. Despite what the picture looks like, he really was happy and having a good time.
Lance loving every thing about the beach--as usual. :)
About an hour into our play, it began to rain, and not just a sprinkle, but a real Florida rainstorm. After catching our fly-away umbrellas and making sure my cameras were protected, we kept playing. Bethany had a water-proof camera...

Lance thought it was awesome!
Jude and I decided to join the fun.
Jude thought it was fun. At least this water didn't burn his eyes.
You can see the sky clearing behind us.

The rain cleared as fast as it came...
Teenagers...
Peter and his mom, Laurie. Lori is Glenn's sister. They came down from New York to visit family in Florida.
Jude thought it was fun to buried; Lance thought it was fun to bury Jude. He helped me dig the hole and fill it in.
The reason you don't see me in too many pictures? I was the official camera man. :)
Jude fell asleep in my mom's arms. She doesn't look like a grandma, does she?

After playing at the beach, we came inside, showered, and got ready to fly to Virginia. Before we left, we took pictures with the Brewer grandparents.
We are going to miss all our family! It was so much fun to spend two weeks with out extended family, especially the grandparents.
Mom and Glenn drove us to the airport where we caught our plane without a hitch. The flight went well and both boys were asleep by the time we landed in Richmond. Lance is an extremely hard sleeper and would not rouse enough to walk, so I put him in the stroller and put Jude on top of him. We somehow managed to get to the baggage claim where George met us.
11:00 p.m. we were all loaded in the car and on our way to the Outer Banks to spend about 36 hours with George's family! We arrived at the beach house around 1:45 a.m. and settled in for the night after a very, very long day.
Florida was fabulous! I can't wait to go back!
