Eggs, Eggs and more Eggs

Easter seemed to sneak up on my this year. Before I knew it, Easter was just a few days away. It was time to color eggs!

While Lance was at school, Jude and Cole had a couple friends over for a playdate and we had a good time dying some eggs.

Cole of course had to do blue. Everything must be blue with this one. Blue like Thomas. Blue like Leo (the Ninja Turtle). :)

Jude and Benson have become good friends over the past few months. I'm sad their family is moving to Utah in June. Benson's mom Stephanie is a wonderful person and I will miss this family a lot.

Lily couldn't be bothered with eggs. Water and a log are apparently much more fun.

When Lance got home from school, we broke out the dyes again so he could color some as well before Scott picked him up. He was spending the weekend with his dad and Spring Break which was the week following Easter, so it was nice to get some holiday fun in with him.

Jude and Lance both colored about three eggs apiece and were then on to bigger and better things.

This little boy, however, sat at the table for probably an hour. He's my artist, the only one of the boys that enjoys coloring and drawing.

Love this kid!

Obviously spoons are overrated. 

His hands were blue and green for about four days after this.

We spent Easter weekend up in Ashburn with the families. Saturday we had an Easter Egg hunt in the afternoon with the Calderwoods. Lily wasn't too sure what to do...

When she realized the eggs had candy in them, she contended herself with eating it and left the finding to the other kids.

Cole was big enough this year he didn't need much help finding the eggs.

Mason and Jude were racing each other to see who could find the eggs first. They both had TONS of eggs at the end.

Some of the eggs weren't hidden at all and easy to spot.

Jude was thrilled he found "The Golden Egg"!

Mason looked for this egg for probably a full minute before moving on. We told him there was one over by the fence and he looked everywhere except apparently right there. It was pretty funny!

And we couldn't get away without trying to get a group shot of the kids. (Cole had just fallen which is why he looks so sad.)

We thought it would go better with the adults helping, but we were wrong.

After pictures, the kids took their baskets inside to count their spoils.

Lily is very into sharing her food right now. :)

I'm pretty sure if the Easter Bunny didn't come, the kids would still have enough candy to last them a week.

That night we got together with the Glass family at Jen and Eric's house to color more eggs.

George got to color some this time! It was nice he had the weekend off.
