George and I were on the bed today talking when Jude wanders in, so we pull him up to be with us, too.
We have a good time talking to him and tickling him and laughing. While we're playing, Jude keeps jumping on my stomach--rather uncomfortable. I've told Jude before that I have a baby in there, but I don't think he's ever really gotten it.
George decides to try to make it a little clearer for Jude and points to my tummy and tells Jude "Baby!"
Jude: "Baby?"
George: "Yeah. There's a baby in there!"
Jude: "Baby... hiding... inside?"
George: "Yeah, the baby is hiding inside Mommy."
Jude: "Out?"
George: "No, the baby needs to stay inside."
Jude, obviously confused by this, then begins to pull on my shirt that's covering my tummy and says:
"Pull it out. Pull it out!"
George and I had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard. Jude is just starting to talk fairly well and he says new phrases every day. This was a new one for him and it was hilarious!
Here are a few more tidbits about Jude:
He is now 21 1/2 months old and weighs about 26 lbs.
Whenever he walks out our front door, he waves at the pumpkin we have and says "Bye bye, pumpkin!"
He's very cuddly and will love on everyone. If he sees an adult he knows, he'll run over to greet them and give them a hug. It's so cute!
He's very social and says Hello to everyone he meets, no matter who they are.
He LOVES Lance and wants to do anything Lance is doing. If we're getting in the car, he'll point to Lance's seat and ask where he is. If he's going to bed, he'll say "Lance, too?" If Lance is visiting his dad, Jude will often ask "Where's Lance?" He loves his brother!
He's getting really good at saying people's names, although he calls Aric Elmer (our neighbor) "Man" whenever we ask him what his name is. Aric thinks it's pretty funny.
He wants to ride a bike like Lance so badly. He'll point at the bikes and ask to ride them--which usually means he sits on them while Mommy pushes him around. He'll be so glad when his little legs can work those petals all by himself.
He loves Thomas the Tank Engine (he calls trains "choo choos") and airplanes (which he calls "taxis" for some reason we don't understand).
His favorite thing to eat is lollipops ("pops") which he asks for every day, all day long--and even at 3 a.m. in his sleep. Popsicles come in a close second, which he has always called "caw-koy". We've tried to get him to say "Popsicle" by having him sound out each syllable. It ended up like this: "Jude, say pop." "Pop." "Say 'sick'." "Sick." "Now say 'ull'." "Ull." "Now say "popsicle." With great distinction and inflection, Jude looked right at us and said, "Caw-Koy." Stinker.
His favorite person right now has to be Pop Pop, George's dad. Jude asks about Pop Pop all the time and whenever we visit he can't get enough of him.
Jude loves animals, but most especially dogs and cats. We routinely walk a big lab and Jude thinks he is just the greatest thing ever.
This is such a fun age. He's become my little buddy. One of my favorite things he does is when he wants me to see something or sit by him, he'll walk up to me and clap his little hand on his leg and say "come"--almost like he's calling a dog. It's pretty funny. He has the sweetest personality and temperament. He's a lot like George--always joking around and laughing at himself. We can't get enough of him!
