Good-bye dear friends!

May. It was that time of year: Graduation. While so exciting for those moving on and leaving to start a new chapter in their lives, I have to admit I hated it. Many of our friends we've made over the past four years said good-bye last month and moved to various places all over the United States.

We're already lonely.

Luckily, we did get to spend some last-minute quality time with these wonderful people before they left.

One day before graduation we had a lunch picnic on the Lawn with the Smiths, Vedomskes, Francoms and Dickensons.

While the adults chatted, the kids had a good time running around the pillars and knocking over the ropes set up for the graduation ceremony that was taking place the next day.

Gosh, I'm missing these people. (Thankfully the Vedomskes are still around.)

These boys are good buddies. I know Cameron and Jude are going to miss Bennett. Like, a lot.

The three graduates and their kiddos.

Love this little family!

Not to let any chance to hang out pass, we had our friends the Smiths and the Simmons over one night for some s'mores in our backyard.

Allison came too!

Miss Ellie. Love her!

Melissa hosted a play-group at her house as a farewell to all the ladies and families that were moving away.

And finally, the day before the Smiths moved to Texas, Melissa hosted another dinner at her house so we could hang out just one last time.

We've been friends with these families for years...

I can honestly say these people have been the reason Charlottesville feels like home. I don't know what we're going to do without them.

Moving day:

Charlottesville already feels a little bit smaller, and a lot more lonely. We miss you guys!

"I love to see the temple, I'll go inside one day..."

And that day was May 18th: Jason and Kailey went through the Temple for the first time before they leave on their missions this summer! George had to work so he missed it, but Tyler watched the boys for me so I could attend with the rest of the family. Thanks, Tyler!

It was really special being there with so much of my family. I was reminded again how wonderful the Gospel is and how much hope it gives us for the future. I am so thankful that our family can be together forever.

I thought this picture was funny. Two sisters taking pictures of their grown-up babies. :)

Siblings!

The whole group at the temple that day. I sure love my family!

The next day before we drove back to Charlottesville, we celebrated Stephen's Birthday!

24 years old!

Mason really really wanted some cake.

Nice shirt! Thanks, Chad!

And after a quick post-cake nap...
...it was back to Charlottesville, George and Lance.

May 12th--Mother's Day!

Mother's Day this year was a whirl-wind! George and I drove with the two younger boys to Ashburn late Saturday night (Lance had his weekend with his dad) so we could wish George's mom a Happy Mother's Day. My mom was still in Florida. :(

Breakfast: crepes!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

After breakfast we loaded up the boys and drove back to Charlottesville so I could teach the young women at church.

And finally after Church, Lance came home and we drove over to have dinner at the Elmer's house.

It was a perfect way to end a special day.

Our attempts at a family photo, compliments of Jamie:

Some of our best friends: The Smiths and the Elmers.

And to finish off a great BBQ, the Elmers broke out the fire to make s'mores.

George got me a new phone for Mother's Day! Woohoo! And Lance picked out these pretty flowers and made this sweet candy message for me.

It was a wonderful day full of family, friends and fun. I'm one lucky mamma!
