We got home Sunday, November 27th, after spending Thanksgiving week up in Ashburn with our families.
The first thing we did when we walked in the door was put our tree in the stand.

No easy task, seeing as it was 9 feet tall (about 15 inches too tall for our ceiling) and the only saw we had was one made for cutting small, delicate pieces of wood--not 4 inch logs.
George was a good sport and after about 15 minutes of sawing and sawing and sawing, we finally had our tree in the stand. Lance and Jude were excited to cut off the strings and watch the branches fluff out. Well, sort of fluff out. It had been tied for a couple days, so it took the tree about 24 hours to reach it's pre-tied fluffiness.
Monday night for Family Home Evening we broke out our ornaments and decorated the tree.

George and the boys looked at our Christmas I Spy book while the I got some hot chocolate ready.
It was a hit!
You are the best family ever. Cutting the tree stump for 15 minutes, kids are tired, yet you push onward...FHE and hot cocoa?! You're so good!
