While Lexi officially turned 2 on June 19th, we waited to celebrate until we could be with more family.
We invited my family over, picked up some crab on our way to Ashburn, and had a fantastic meal with the Glasses, Scholz, and Calderwoods.

I look forward to this meal every year! We usually do it for George and Mom's birthday and man is it great!
I think the kids like to play with the crab more than eat it.
Lily was one of the few kids that stuck around and really tried to learn to get the meat. She did a great job and was really proud when she was able to get some meat all by herself.
Uncle Eric must REALLY love Lily--he's allergic to all shellfish and crab but still helped her dissect her crab. Now that's love!

Lexi wanted animals on her cake, so after scouring Pinterest for some good ideas, I finally came up with this:

...but in the end, Dad came to the rescue!
Happy happy Birthday to our sweet Lexi Lou! (Or "Wexi Wou" as she says.) Your silly personality is enchanting and your snuggles are the best (even if you are seriously the hardest person ever to hold with your constant squirming). You are my little shadow and insist on being everywhere I am. We love listening to you talk with your husky little voice. Your smile and laugh can light up a room. Thank you for being ours!
