Babymoon in Florida--Day 3

This was my favorite day of the trip! We landed in Freeport that morning and quickly set off for our snorkeling adventure! 

We bussed about 30 minutes to our access point on a tiny little thing with the funniest driver. He had a LOT to say about his island and the United States.

Even though this boat ride was much more bump (it was pretty windy), I didn't feel as sick. We had a fun group of people with us and the guides were very knowledgable and charismatic.

They took us out in the middle of nowhere, far from the shoreline. It was a bit scary at first just jumping into the water from the boat, but once we were in, it wasn't too bad. The hardest part was trying to breathe through the snorkel while you were bounced up and down by the large swells.

We saw mostly these fish while we were out.

After snorkeling, we got back on the boat and drove to another cove where we were able to meet and pet a dolphin!

We didn't get to actually swim with him, but we were close enough we got to touch him several times and interact. It was really really neat!

Such a fun experience!

Back at home, Lance was having fun at a scout activity with his Dad.

After our snorkeling/dolphin adventure, we didn't have much time before the ship would depart again, so we hung out at the little touristy trap area at the dock and had the BEST pina colada I've ever tasted. 

Once back on board, it was business as usual:

Our formal dinner was that night as well! 

Mom sent me these some pictures of the kiddos--she was amazing and took Jude to his soccer game in 20 degree weather that morning! The kids were all having a blast and even had a "sleep over" in the family room the night before.

It had been a GREAT day and tomorrow was supposed to be even better--jet skiing around a private island and relaxing in the sun!

Babymoon in Florida--Day 2

Day 2 started with breakfast at the Hash House. I don't think I've ever had a better breakfast, so if you're ever in Orlando, check it out!

That afternoon, we drove to Cape Canaveral and boarded our Royal Caribbean boat that would take us to the Bahamas! We were so excited!

We spent the afternoon exploring the decks before it was time to depart. Majesty of the Seas isn't a huge ship, nor the newest one, but they had some fun things like a rock climbing wall and a large deck with hot tubs and pools.

After departure, I immediately felt sick. If you've never been on a boat while experiencing morning sickness, DO NOT DO IT! I was on the struggle bus.

George and I got an hour-long couple's massage which was wonderful, after which I threw up everything I had eaten that day. Perfect. Just in time for dinner!

Everyone raves about the food on a cruise ship, but I was having a hard time enjoying it. Our waiter brought me a green apple, saying it would help with the motion sickness. He must have been right because it was the only thing that sounded good AND it stayed down, so a win, I guess!

Trying hard to not be sick...

I felt terrible that we were on our way to the Bahamas and I was so, so sick. Luckily we had brought along some phenergan which was my only saving grace for the next two and a half days!

Babymoon in Florida--Day 1

In October, George and I found out we were expecting our 6th baby, so we decided it was now or never to take a quick trip--just the two of us.

My mom was amazing and agreed to take care of all the kiddos while George and I spent 5 days in Florida! 

We put the kiddos to bed and drove to Ashburn to spend the night before catching a flight to Orlando the next morning. Mom sent us this picture of the boys on their way to school:

On the plane! Can I just tell you, flying without kids is a.Mazing.

We spent most of the day running errands since we were going to board a cruise ship the next day. Shopping for a swim suit has never been more fun!

Uncle Julios, anyone?

That night we visited a really fun little place called "Better Than Sex" that specializes in desserts. I'm not sure I can totally agree with the name, but it definitely hit the spot!
