After spending a long day at Sea World, it was time for Lego Land!
Wednesday, July 29th, we spent as a family at Lego Land. Again, Lance had been here several times in the past with his cousins, but this was new to the rest of us. Jude especially was excited. He likes to channel on youtube called "FGTeeV" that's made by a cute little family. They review Skylanders--Jude's favorite video game--and other games/apps but also have a family vlog where they show all their wild adventures. They went to Lego Land and made it look like so much fun on their videos that Jude insisted we go. So we went!
Overall, it was fun, although I'm not sure it was worth the price. It cost almost as much as Disneyland, but wasn't nearly as large or as fun. The kids all had a good time, though, which made it worth it.
Lily did a good job even though she couldn't ride most of the rides.
We went to the kiddie area that morning to try and find things that Cole and Lily could do. They had this neat area where you could shoot foam balls at each other inside a play structure. While George was in line with Lance and Jude for a ride, I managed to lose sight of Cole and after about 5 minutes of looking for him, finally had to ask a park attendant. Luckily another attendant just down the way saw him wandering around and brought him back to me. So scary! It's easy to lose the kids in the crowd, especially if they are wanderers like Cole. Stinker. This would not be the only time we lost him that day.
George then took Lance and Jude on the Dragon ride, so Cole and Lily and I enjoyed some ice cream together and watched some of the rides close by.
Cole really liked this horse one!
They rode around on a little track while the horse bounced up and down and your javelin knocked things over. Good times.
At the dragon ride, they had the neatest waiting area. There were hundreds of these large foam legos you could use to build whatever you wanted. No surprise Cole built a train!
I don't think Lily quite got the "building" concept, but certainly had a good time walking up to this girl and taking pieces off her creation. She was a good sport about it.
Now it's Lance and Jude's turn for the horses:

Later that day, we made it over to the Lego display area. They had incredible works of art made out of Legos!
Even Cole and Lily couldn't help but be impressed.
Jude liked the little Jedi that moved up and down under the AT-AT.
I think my favorite part was walking through the city scapes made of Legos. They had Las Vegas, New Orleans, and New York City to name a few.
Trying his hand at building:
Lego Land has a water park you can pay extra to use. We decided against it, but were happy to discover they did have a water area that was included in our ticket. It was a nice way to cool off. Lily thought the splash pad and the swings were great!
I managed to lose Cole again while we were playing. I looked and looked and finally saw him walking with a park attendant wrapped in a towel. I felt pretty foolish that it happened a second time. On the plus side, that towel because our only souvenir from Lego Land that day!
We rode a few of the water ride (and got completely soaked) and then ran off to do the last few rides before the park closed at 8. Yes, 8 p.m. You pay almost $80 per kid for a park that's open 10 hours. Crazy.

Everywhere the park sold food, there were signs that said something to effect of: "Food contains products known to the state of California to cause cancer or birth defects." George and I thought it was pretty funny.
Waiting in line for the last big ride of the day:
While George and the older boys were in line, I took Cole and Lily to the kid's area again and rode this airplane ride about three times in a row. It was actually a pretty fun ride and the kids thought it was great.

For dinner we went to the all you can eat pizza buffet.
It hit the spot and was surprisingly inexpensive.

We crammed a few last-minute rides in before the park closed:
This little roadway was cute. The kids actually got to power and steer their own cars. Jude did a great job!
Cole didn't even try! The poor ride attendant had to constantly get him out of jams. Cole just mashed on the gas but wouldn't steer, so he careened into the walls and other kids. It was pretty funny to watch.
Lance did the big-kid version. It was neat! The had it set up like a neighborhood with stops and turns and interconnecting roads. I wanted to do it!
