Friday while George was at work, Jude and I walked around UVa's central grounds and took some pictures for the project I'm working on. The lighting was off (way too bright and right overhead), but I have some idea of the kinds of pictures I want so I'll have to go back when it's overcast and re-shoot. I'm trying to spell out "VIRGINIA" using photos of parts of buildings or other uniquely shaped structures. Here are a couple shots I took that I need to retake, but you get the idea:
The "Serpentine Walls" in the gardens on campus--I would use this for the letter 'I' after some cropping.
Part of the walkway next to the Rotunda--not using as a letter, just thought it was pretty.
That night after George came home we watched an older animated movie called "Titan A.E." It came out when we were both in High School and we had a good time walking down memory lane and trying to remember what was going to happen next in the movie. It was a lot of fun!
Saturday morning we went to the Charlottesville Farmer's Market located outside the Downtown Mall. Hot bagel sandwiches from the bagel ladies and authentic mexican tacos--yum! There are so many neat things there and fresh produce. We are huge fans of the crepes made by a french lady and the rustic homemade bread. It's a fun thing to do on Saturday mornings.
The rest of the day was spent bumming boxes off of Kroger and the local ABC stores and packing up our house for the move this week. So, yes... in our living room are several large boxes labeled "Vodka", "Whiskey", and "Margarita Mix". To our credit, we also have several boxes labeled "eggs". Don't judge.
That evening we dropped Jude off at a friend's house and made our way over to the Boar's Head Inn for a fantastic dinner with our friends, Matt and Lindsey. We had a great time catching up and eating wonderful food. The Boar's Head is a beautiful golfing resort in Charlottesville. Normally it is very expensive, but thanks to "Restaurant Week" here in Charlottesville the price was just right. It was a neat experience and great we got to share it with our good friends. Matt and Lindsey just got engaged! We are so happy for you guys!
This is what we found when we picked up Jude:
Way to get your "skater" on! Thanks, Elmers, for watching him for us!
Sunday was spent at Church and packing. That night we had left-over lamb for dinner and guess who decided he loves lamb?
Jude, I can't blame you. Daddy does make the best lamb I've ever had. Even Lance loves it and asks for it all the time.
This week is going to be so full. Packing up the house and moving all our things to our new apartment and then leaving for Florida on Friday. Wish us luck!
Lol. When you said "thanks, Elmers, for watching him." I got really confused because "Elmers" is the Northwest's version of the Dennys restaurant. I became very concerned for Jude.
