Amy's Bachelorette Party!

Amy and Derek are getting married May 13th! To celebrate, we wanted to throw her some kind of party, but when given the option for a bachelorette party or a day out with her sisters and mom, she chose a day out.

And what a day it was!

While the kids got to play with George and his parents, I got to fly and race with Amy, Laura, and Mom!

First stop was iFly in Ashburn, an indoor skydiving facility. I have to admit I was pretty nervous, but it turned out amazing!

Since Laura is pregnant, she couldn't fly. :(

All suited up and ready to fly!

The instructor asked if anyone in our group felt confident they could do it, so I raised my hand. I didn't feel quite as confident when he then told everyone that I would be going first and showing everyone how to do it. Eek!

It was great! It was tricky at first, but we got the hang of it pretty fast.

We got to fly twice, and the second time, the instructor took us up to the top! THAT was awesome!

Me!

I loved this so much, I bought vouchers so we can go back for Lance's Birthday in September. He was so excited when I told him.

After flying, I ran back to feed Lexi and then caught lunch with the girls at Macaroni Grill.

We were supposed to do Go-Kart racing after that, but got delayed by the long line, so we got our nails done while we waited.

The kids had a great time while I was away. George and Pop Pop took them to get their hair cut.

Handsome little dudes.

We ended the night by going to an indoor go-kart race track. It was intense! I wasn't a huge fan of the helmet (I felt very claustrophobic with it being so tight on my head), but racing the car was fun. I wasn't the best driver (I got lapped by almost everyone, I think), but I think if I did it again, it would go better. I'd just need a bigger helmet. ;)

Thank you for the fun day, Amy! I am so happy for you and Derek and can't wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day!

Spooning dogs, dim sum, and turtles

More of April happenings:

Lily still loves bugs. She's a bit more cautious now, but remains fascinated by them.

Our local ice cream shop had their 5 cent cone day, so the kids and I went with the Knights and filled up!

Jude has been having a hard time sleeping due to nightmares, so I will often wake up and find he's made his way into our room sometime in the middle of the night. Most of the time, he snuggles up on the dog bed with Bender. Not my ideal place to sleep, but it doesn't seem to bother either one.

Lexi wants so badly to be big.

She is so fun. We all love her!

Love these girls.

Lexi is totally in love with her Daddy. I love watching these two. They have a sweet relationship.

Full of sass.

While up in Ashburn on day, we drove to Maryland to have dim sum with George's Uncle and Aunt. It was so, sooo good (although the kids weren't overly thrilled with the lack of American food).

Tea was there, too, with Wei-yu and Tangie.

We lovie having fun friends! We've been hanging out a lot with the Knights and my kids love it!

An old nursing school buddy of mine posted this on Facebook and I had to save the picture. This is from Nursing school at BYU when we practiced starting IV's and drawing blood on each other.
Ah, the good old days!

Lance and Jude had a carnival put on by their school and I couldn't turn down their requests to attend. It was actually really fun,  even though the crowds were huge. Lance was excited he got to color his hair.

They had this enormous slide in the auditorium. Cole, Lily, and I stood in line for about 30 minutes so they could go down. Lily bowed out at the last minute once she got to the top and saw how high it was, but Cole fearlessly threw himself down. I was impressed! He did it a couple more times that night.

I know it's blurry, but then I wouldn't expect much else trying to capture crazy Jude in a picture. This kid ran non-stop all night! His favorite station was this inflatable obstacle course where he raced Lance and Cole.

And of course we couldn't leave before having some shaved ice!

Jude's soccer season continues to go well! They don't win many games, but they have fun and Jude has told me he wants to play next season, so I'd call that a success!

Our friends found a turtle on their farm and let it hang out for a day before returning it. The kids were excited to see a turtle up close.

No worries. No turtles were harmed while taking these pictures and all hands were washed well.

Man, is it summer yet? I'm so ready for the kids to be out of school and home.
