The last week in June was a bit crazy being home with all five kids. People always told me that the third baby was the hardest and after that it get easier with each one. I'm not sure I agree. Yes, I know how to take care of a newborn and yes, I'm a pro at nursing, but I wouldn't say having the fifth baby is a walk in the park. Trying to get back into a routine and still give all the kids the attention they need has been rough. I've had a a handful of melt-downs brought on by lack of sleep and feeling like I've lost control of my life. Thank goodness for George who has been amazing and Lance who's really stepped up and has been a huge help.
We're all getting used to the "new normal" as I like to call it. Lily is loving being a big sister. She loves Lexi and wants to touch her all the time.
Cole especially is enamored and asks to hold Lexi several times a day.
Jude colored this at one of our Dr appts for Lexi and was very proud. He told me Callie had taught him how to color in the lines. I thought he did a great job!
The Elmers came over one night with dinner in hand to meet Lexi. We love this family!
Little Lex is growing up a storm and is no longer yellow!
We love this tiny peanut!
Sweet big brother.
Lexi and I got to accompany Lance on a hike when she was about 10 days old. I was itching to feel normal and get out of the house, so we came along.
Wineberries! They were delicious!
Lexi was great! She slept the majority of the hike.
The kids loved finding these wineberries along the path. I'd never tried them before--very tender with a light, sweet taste.
Nursing Lexi while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
We hiked to this cool floating bridge that the scouts all thought was awesome. Lance had a great time climbing all over it and jumping from float to float.
We found this HUGE beetle on our way back.
Beautiful.
I love that I was able to spend some time with Lance. We don't get that very often, so each time it happens is special.
Sister!
I think I've got the hang of this. Bring it on!
